I'm surprised these were not posted here yet:
Bad news first:
The latest firmware upgrade for the Ltd 163 and the 163D have to run in Windows. They are dangerous, stay away from them. Many had a system crash while running them, resulting in dead drives and system that won't boot with the drive connected.
At hxxp://digitri.tk you can get safe DOS versions of those two.
If your drive has snuffed it you might revive it with Mtkflash and binary firmware, both are available there as well.
The Good news:
There's a great new region free tool for all Liteon/Jlms/Oems/rebadged dvd's. Runs in Windows and instantly disable or enable RPC. Works like magic!
