liteon and tdk rxg audio cdr's problem

i tried to back up an audio disk using a tdk rxg cdr and it would not copy although it went through the copy stages but then showed nothing on the disk
although most other disks work fine my liteon is a 48x12x48 drive

did you select "simulation only"; :p :D

tdk rxg aren't really good; try it again with a CD-RW (to check software and drive), if it will work try Intenso's or Fuji's data CD-Rs (for AudioCDs too);

Greetings from
Duracell

i tried a different brand and it worked fine, so it must be that particular brand ie.
tdk rgx's,
thanx for the advice though.

TDK has stopped using reliable media to stamp since 12 or more months ago. Try another brand, and check if the disk you try to copy is protected (in that case it will not have the Compact Disk Audio logo stamped on it).

it wasnt copyrighted disk just one i made a while back with a few various songs
on i have tried i different brand and everything went fine i thought tdk were suppose to be a top brand. i used a cheapo white top brand they work perfectly
there called MEDIANCA who ever they are

I have the same problem with my Lite On LDW 411S DVD Burner. It only concerns Audio CDs and normal Data CDs, the DVDs work fine. But the problem doesn't depend on the media. Even when there's no disk in the drive, you haven't the option to finalize the disk under Nero or whatever program you use. And that's the same problem the others have: it burns the CD but you can't read it, because it isn't finalized.

If no one knows a solution I'll bring the drive back and choose another one. My Lite-On Cd Burner 48125S burns all medias without a problem!

Tajee_2003: I don't have the Liteon DVD burner, so I cannot really help, but why not insert the open disk to the CD burner and finalize it...
OK, the audio disks will NOT be 100% redbook compliant like that, but they will be readable on standalones...

To scarecrow: It's not a problem to get readable CDs since I have a working CD Burner installed. But hey, I've spent money on this one and planned to uninstall the other drive because the LDW 411S should burn CDs 40x.

I've read a few topics in other newsgroups. They say something about a crap Nvidia IDE driver. I have a Nforce2 board and used the Microsoft IDE driver instead a few minutes ago, but that doesn't help.

Still got this strange CDR problem...
