Lip Sinc

Hi, just a question, why is it when i attempt to back up an entire dvd the lip sinc is way, way out, and to make it worse it gets further out toward the end of all the extra stuff that is on the dvd, making it almost impossible to fix and get spot on. I tried it on a few movies now but reciently with Zoolander to get all the extra bloopers and that but gave up on trying to fix the lip sinc so just cut the extra bits off. I am using Smart ripper to Rip the whole dvd and dvd2avi to convet to avi. I just keep adding all the VOB's, perhaps this is where i am going wrong. ??

I would like to back-up Dirty Dancing cause it has allot of extra footage in it but dont want to waste my time if the lip sinc is going to be way out again.

Cheers

I assume your talking about converting the DVD to VCD ?? using DVD2AVI & TMPGEnc ?

Rip the movie as usual, then rip each "group of vobs" that you know is the Trailer or Bloopers, etc into its own folder (for safety reasons), then run DVD2AVI on each group and finally encode each group. Set the encoding up in Batch mode so you can do them all one after the other if you wish.

Do not ever load other vob files with the main movie vobs as what you got is what you get ! Do not assume the Inverviews, Tech stuff, Bloopers, etc are all recorded at the same audio settings or even video settings as the original movie. In fact I have never found then to ever be the same! DVD2AVI only checks ONCE the audio and thats about 5 sec or so into the movie if I can remember correctly.

Then in Nero, drag each mpg file in and put in the correct order that you want them to be in. Also change the default 5sec lag between each track if you wish. I have done many (actually lots!) ripps with extras attached and never ever had a sync problem.

Hope thats clear.

hmm... maybe the AC3 file has got some delay ... u need to fix it with an "DELAY corrector" ... I think u can find it on doom9 ...

--> this step is only required if u want to transcode the movie and multiplex it again with the original AudioTrack ....
