Kazaalite is not free

unfortunatly people get SUCKED into these SCAMS and pay dearly :( i have a friend that paid $25 for a download of ..guess what KAZAA lite and a supposed unlimited access for things all great .....instead he got SCAMMED for a FREE PROGRAM that you can get just about everywhere :(

BE WARNED of similar SCAMS people :)

You might as well pay for downloading cosher official software/music/movies etc. than pay to (arguably) break the law when filesharing with KazaaLite...:( :(
What`s the world coming to? -the cheeky b*****ds....:(

this isn't a scam, but the creater or mIRC is now charging for his program as well.

US$20 to register it :) after 8 years he's no decided to charge. Right.

er MIRC has been shareware a long time now !?

you have to pay to register it !?

The registration is a small, affordable, one time payment of US$20.00, and will also work with future versions of mIRC

?!??!?!

hmmm... i c. Well i dunno how but im still using it for free.
Never used it.I have the s/w somewhere but I`ve never installed it.Maybe you can`t use the 'latest' KazaaLite s/w build without subscribing... Think about it...

mIRC is shareware for ages (and anyway I have not used it for ages, I have better opensource programs to use...) and about the Kazaalite thingy you may be referring to the old addy www.k-lite.tk which was taken over by rubbish sellers, and has nothing to do with Kazaalite anymore.

I use Kazaa Lite K++ Edition. It has no spyware, and is free. It also has no limitations on search function, plus adds features that KaZaA hasn't got.

KaZaA v2.6 itself is currently free, but it contains nasties like adware and spyware. If you pay for the full KaZaA Plus v2.5.2, the adware is removed and stuff, but it's pretty much the same.

Hhmm, I'll have to check the latest versions of mIRC out again. I use mIRC 6.03 and it's shareware, but I'm yet to try version mIRC 6.12. I'll give it a go now.

Edit - That's a shocker, version 6.12 of mIRC does appear to be limited to 30 days of use. There's like a meter tha gradually fills up. I never thought that it'd go this way, hhmm.

Rest in peace kazaalite!!:D Turns out if you have a old version as of now you can still download for free but if you need a new verision you will be paying. So I say it now this is the death of kazaalite just like napster. You have to love the RIAA and if they get their way they want to put people in jail for dowmloading mp3's!!
Just some news you might find interesting.
RIAA Wants to Hack Your PC

I you heard the song (MP3) going around with the riaa phone numbers in it may you should give them a phone call and tell them how you feel.
RIAA Phone Call MP3
By the way Cary Sherman is in charge so I attach a photo so we can put a face to the riaa.:D

Sharman Networks have got the OFFICIAL Kazaa Lite sites to cease and desist. Though that leaves a good many more.

Seen Shareaza suggested as an alternative http://www.shareaza.com/
Covering Gnutella 1, Gnutella 2, Edonkey2000 and Bitorrent

As for MIRC, there are several alternate IRC/multiple clients.
http://www.trillian.cc/products/overview_basic.php - Trillian Basic (free)
http://gaim.sourceforge.net/win32/index.php - Gaim (opensource freeware)
http://www.miranda-im.org/ - Miranda-IM / formerly Miranda-ICQ (opensource freeware) ... And if Miranda-IM doesn't have a plugin for it, it probably isn't worth doing!

The multi-messengers currently play cat and mouse with service providers attempts to block them (from AOL IM and MSN) - the same may be true of other clients with access to the Kazaa network.

One thing though, unless Kazaa intend going for a HOSTED, pay per download model, THEY need clients (even ad-cleaned ones) probably more than their clients need them.
