Is there a way to check validity of an image?

Hi,
I've downloaded a cd image set (img, ccd, sub), a CloneCD product. I tried writing it into a cd, using various burner applications. The burning ended successfully, but none of the disks ended-up a useful cd. Either the driver wasn't recognized when using it, or a "finction(1)" error appeared.
Looks like this is faulty image file.
Is there a way to check an image in advance and avoid the time, money, effort wasted?

got a tip to save money ..... use CDRW instead of a cdr until you are satisfied that the image works :)

also you could mount the image with clone cds virtual drive :) and test it that way :)

also try burning it with alcohol software as this can handle clone cd image files :)

Thanks for the tip, but...

Well, the thank you for the tip is: thank you, period.
The three dotd are for the rest.
I burnt the image both with CloneCD and Alcohol 120%. Both ended up "successfully", but the CD is useless. When I try accessing my CD drive with this disk mounted, I get a n "Incorrect function (code: 1)". I wish I knew what it is! I wish even more, if I knew how to cure the problem.

Havu U tried setting CloneCD Hide CDR setting or Alcohol's Ignore Media Type. This is me assuming that it is a game image

I had it with The Thing, it would back it up ok, but when i tried 2 run it, it just GPF(crashed)I was advised 2 change the setting in Alcohol 2 yes & then the game worked great

U cant try it out, but it might cause probs when tryin 2 read the ATIP disc info in Nero Info Tool

Hope it helps, if not then chances are the image is corrupt
