Internet connection problem / NEED HELP !

Hi All,

I have a modem (56k) connection that i always could use till i installed the SP1 for WinXP.

Now, when i try to connect i get the 691 error that means that login & password are not correct for the domain.

A friend (also with WinXP SP1) and i tried 3 or 4 connections (on different providers, STILL THE SAME ERROR !!!!

Do you know something i could do... EXCEPT UNINSTALLING SP1 ?

Try to install the modem drivers again , then go to control panel - phone and modem options - modems - diagnostics and then Query Modem.
If all are ok then make a new connection and i don´t see the reason why should not work.

I'll try to install the drivers again...

But you know, sending or receiving faxes work perfectly...

And when i try to connect, it reaches the "Veryfying username and password" dialog which means that the modems can sucessfully connect to the radius server. It's just the authentification that does not work...

yu tried hyper terminal?

Hello, I don't know if it still exist, but, have yu tried to connect for example your pop3 server with hyperterminal?

Try to connect woth ftp under dos, if it stil working under xp of course,
and finallyn, think to have a look on you IP config, maybe you've entered manually somme parameters which could damage your connection. You have verified the DNS for your provider?
I have no solutions, only tips ;-)

I'll also try what you suggest.

But when i creator a connection, i only give the login, pass and phone number and it usually works. But not now.
