InstantCopy Hidden Settings Editor 1.3.6 Released

Hello,

I use Settings Editor 1.3.6, which worked fine until today.
When I try to start I get 'Run-time error '13': Type mismatch'.

What's wrong ?

to be able to help you better could you please provide the Information you get from the 'FeatureCheck' which you can find on the '?' menu. There's a 'Copy Info to Clipboard' button.

if this Feature Check is part of ther settings editor that's just the problem: I can't start the settingse editor at all.

can you please provide the content of your
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\InstantCopySettings\SETTINGS

n.p. m8, i'm here to help

ms & VB keep to amaze me every day, this is f**king crazy...
o.k heres the solution to your problem :
change the ViewTips value to 0 (thats zero not o!),
and i dont have the slightest idea how the Wrong value came there in the first place

Let me know if this fixes it, but i'm 99.9% sure

Now it works fine again.


Could it be possible, that the registry was changed by some Windows-Updates ? This was the only thing I changed on this computer since the last time the settings editor ran OK.

glad i could help!
this seems to be some strange behaviour of the vbruntimes, usually it writes 'true' or 'false' to the registry, but this somehow gets messed up, but never happened on a german os though.
I'm working on a permanent fix for that in the next release!

how ever i couldnt find any info on what causes this problem in the end

at least we got it fixed for you!

looking forward to next release that's compatiable with Version 8

is my prediction calculator still implemented into the editor?

it's probably out of date now anyway and even more so after testing version 8

the black bar issue seems to be no more as it doesn't undersize like it did previously especially with 2.35:1 movies

there are some interesting settings in the new version but I'll keep quiet for now as I don't know how much I am allowed to say

I've just changed the settings manually instead

nice to have you here!
the next release will just feature some bugfixes, but if no more bugs pop up the release after that will have support for version 8, but wont be released before Pinnacle officially makes 8.x available! And yes it will still have your prediction calculator implemented, because it will support both the 7.x & the 8.x series since not everyone will upgrade to 8 instantly, but with the knowledge you just provided i will add a warning that it is intended for version 7 and most certainly obsolete on 8!

From what I've seen so far guy's IC 7 is better soft quality wise, either that or I need glasses!
