I'm rusty on hardware...is the Sony DRU 510A still a great DVD burner?

Topic title says it all. I'm finding this DVD RW drive at good prices now, but I really don't know how well it fares against the competition since many more have been released on the market since this one came out. Can I get some opinions?

Ummm... it really depends on the price you might hit that one, but yes, it's still an exhellent -albeit slightly picky on media- burner.
I've got the predecessor DRU-500 and I'm very happy with it, leaving aside problems with Princo media (both DVD-R and CD-R)... but then name one who doesn't have major or minor problems with Princocrap....

I as well have a DRU 500A, and no problems. Also just got a LiteOn 411S and like it too. Ritek makes just about the least expensive media that seems to work for just about all burners. I have been using Memorex 4X as well with no adverse results.

The one I'm looking at will be $92.79 (US) after rebates. Good deal? Or can I do better for the same price?
