IE6 toolbar problem

i have a problem with unlocking the toolbars in my browser, there is no unlock or customize option listed when i press view. the toolbars r listed but shaded like they would be if the toolbars were locked, however the option to unlock the toolbars seems to have disappeared, i have tried upgrading to IE6 SP1 but that failed to correct the problem, i tried scf /scannow to try repairing, also tried the repair command for IE6 specifically, all with no luck, now aftre trying to remove IE from my system to re-install , all that happens is it uninstalled sp1 returned to the previous version and now no option to even uninstall, can anyone think of anything i may have forgotten, or never tried???

You could always do a system restore, if this is a recent thing maybe go back a day or so? whereever your last restore point is. If a restore point has not been made in a while maybe you should try something else like going to control panel>ad/remove program>add\remove system components >highlight IE (don't double click)>click next. This should try to fix IE.
