IE temp files

Anybody know a reg tweak to clear internet temp files when you close IE? I don't have the option in the internet options advanced section in IE. Thanks

it is in advanced under security
ie 5.50
mine is forth one down ... empty temp internet files when browser closes - just check it

i will check-there is a way (i think) to change the registry and force it to dump them

eddieb,

In Internet Explorer on your left hand top menu there is “Tools” menu item. Click ‘Tools” and you will find the menu item “Internet Options”. Click “Internet Options” menu item and then click on the “Advanced” tab and navigate down to “Security” and you will see a box titled “Empty Temp Internet Files When Browser Is Closed”. Check this box and your problems will be solved.

If you want some more “Security” suggest you look at a program called “East-Tec Eraser 2002” that will erase all kids of Internet browser stuff.

Thanks guys but I don't have the line “Empty Temp Internet Files When Browser Is Closed” in the Tools->advanced->security. Any other possiblities like maybe a registry hack?

are ya using opera or netscape then? :confused: it has been a check box in advanced since 5.0 I believe :eek:

edit: are you running IE 3 or 4? :p

Greets Peeps;

New to this game, but experience of "other" forums seems to have spilled over on to this one, i.e. snowball effect running in to a "percieved" lack of control with no clear answer to the original question. If you've got problems with "garbage" on your system when you've finished surfing and you want a simple and "effective" way of getting shot of it, then why not try a third party proggy like Webroot's Window Washer. Using the options on I Explorer (It's been proved) leaves too many " traces", also you can set Window Washer up any way you want! It's freely available on most shareware sites, with cracks available on the usual. Enjoy!

Dah?

Just ran across this posting. Man.... IE Temp has EVERY VIRUS that 'gets' in! Surfing and you surely get them and don't want anything wriitten to HD.
You can do- Windows START => accessorires, tools, system cleanup. Zap them all.
