Hi,

I am not a happy guy at the minute. I cannot burn a dvd without it either failing, coming up with errors or completing but not working in my dvd players.

I have a Lite-on LDW-411S Writer and i have used a different number of dics, Plus and Minus, and at the minute i am using Ritek G04 Printable DVD-R discs, The Best on the market.

These are the different ways i have tried to burn a dvd:

1. I firstly rip the files of the dvd with DVD Decrypter onto my harddrive and then use the nero wizard to burn a DVD-Video. This will either bring up an error about "Reallocation Failed" or Fail during the burn...or complete but not burn.

2. I create an iso of the dvd using DVD Decrypter then burn the image using nero but the burn completes, but does not work properly at the end in my 3 dvd players.

3. I rip the files onto my hardrve using DVD Decrypter and then use IFOEdit and select the VIDEO_TS.ifo and select "Get VTS Sectors". Then burn the disc with DVD Decrypter and i just get an error.

4. Rip the files from the dvd onto my Harddrive then i burn the dvd in the UDF/ISO mode in nero (Without Using the wizard). This completes but does not work in my dvd players.

I am so piffed off at the minute and i just dont know what could be possibly wrong...I hope someone can help me before i kill my pc.

Cheers

If it's a dvd5 movie, just use dvd decrypter, read and write an iso.

The common factor here seems to be Nero, maybe that tells you something.

If you don't know what you are doing with IFOEdit I would leave it well alone.

Try another burning software and don't burn at too high a speed.

How about you post your Nero history log file without your serial. With that we may be able to give you a better idea of whats going on. :)

First I don't want to see your serial so I took them out.:) Also you have DiscJuggler installed some members say that has a problem ( I don't ) with nero. Also you have a " Sense Key: 0x03 (KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR)" which your drive doesn't like the media. So you may want to update the firmware on your liteon.
1. Update Nero
2. Unistall other burning software
3. Update firmware
Also did you turn off XP useless burning Software?
Try that and let us know how you make out.:)

Hi,

... a Lite-on LDW-411S Writer and i have used a different number of dics, Plus and Minus, and at the minute i am using Ritek G04 Printable DVD-R discs, The Best on the market.

Cheers
At first glance it appears to be media problem. You need media that is a good match for your burner. And I'd imagine many would disagree that 'Ritek G04 Printable DVD-R discs are The Best on the market.'

If you have a DVD 5 movie try DVDDecrypter ISO-> Read, pop in a blank and do ISO Write. That will eliminate Nero from the mix.

Try running one of your burns through Nero CD/DVD Speed, do a 'Transfer Rate Test' and see if you are getting a clean line. You want a result that looks like this:

A bad /match burn that will cause problems may look like this (the end of the backup will be useless):

Or this:

Well your leaving a lot of info out. First are you making a Back-Up of a Back-Up? Or the original can be scratch to where you can't make a working BUs. Also if your copying a B-U and it not a ritek disc the data could be no good in as little as six months.
One more thing you never said what DVD player you have do you know for a fact that it can play B-U? Also if your player does play B-U I've seen player that only like DVD where burned with one program and not others. Never mind the fact that some player only play - R and not + R media or it could be the other way too.

ive got three dvd players it it doesnt work correctly on any..is there anyway to fiz the errors on a dvd? i have only had the copy about 2 weeks maximum. when i run through dvdshrink i get an error...so how can i copy that copy and make it work perfectly in my dvd players. This cop i am actually trying to copy is a ritek dvd-r go3 and im trying to burn onto a ritek dvd-r g04..

IS there anyway to copy these copsys even if they have errors?

yamada will play virtually any dvd format just make sure you use good media :)

also check the disk you are attempting to backup is free from scratches and dirt etc :)

I would have to say no! I've had disc that would play fine and I just couldn't get a BU of them to work. But you still didn't say what DVD players you have or if they play other BU's.

This is probably the same source of info that reported Martians invading Lichtenstein.
However, you do have some info which is good enough to make you worry:
Existing drivers:
File 'Drivers\ASPI32.SYS': Ver=4.71 (0001), size=17005 bytes, created 06/05/2002 09:01:08
File 'Drivers\PXHELP20.SYS': Ver=2.02.62a, size=20016 bytes, created 28/10/2003 11:02:00 (Prassi/Veritas driver for win 2K)

ASPI 4.7X is a troublemaker, and it's no secret that Nero 6 doesn't like RecordNow (or PrimoDVD, or Winamp 5 pro, or whatever Sonic product installed that driver).
If it's accidentally by RecordNowMax 4.5 or RecordNowDX 4.6 then trashing Nero instead would be a brilliant idea! :D

Good advice here.Change aspi layer, and follow this software advice.Your current aspi layer may be contributing to your ripping problems, and problems with Dvdshrink.
