How to subtitle avi and convert to vcd?

I must be dumb or something cause i can't figure it out.
I'm using Virtualdub to subtitle a movie (avi) and then convert it in to mpeg with TMPGenc, so far so good, now i have to split the mpeg in 2 parts and part one goes fine then starting with part two from where i left it takes about 5 days ???
Anybody have a suggestion

What did you use to cut the MPG file with ?

Use either TMPGenc, MPEG2VCR or M2-Edit to cut the MPEG, all work great.

Used TMPGenc, used???, i'm still using its been busy for 73 hours creating a temporary wavefile at 92%
