How to put up picture signature?

I'm a newbie here. I've a dumb question to ask and I think you're not going to flame me cos I know the mods wouldn't tolerate flaming here and my hats off to them! Thank you mods!

How do you put up your picture signature? How big shoud it be? I'm curious and would like to have my pic sig just like many of you.

What is an avatar and how do you put it up? Are ordinary members allowed to put up avatar? Some forums only allow mods to put up avatar.

Anyone of our members can use an avatar the option for it is in your profiles. User cp>Edit Options.

Just do a Google search for animated gifs to find some.
