How to Merge Mp3`s and with what ????

Hi ALL

I`m just after a little help with my downloaded MP3 files . I have downloaded an mp3 album which originaly had no gaps . Since it has been converted to mp3 it is now ALL seperate tracks all i wanna do is join ( merge ) them back together so there are no gaps between the tracks PLUS leave all the sectors in there original place so once burned you have the ability to skip to your desired track . I have tried burning this disc using RecordNow Max 4.5 using disc at once and the track gap set at " 0 " but there still is a gap of about half a second which does not sound much but is very noticable when the disc is played on my HiFi . PLZ i hope someone can help .

Cheers and Thanx

KEN;)

Hi kenbitt, Albumwrap is the software that I use to merge MP3's together (this turns the merged MP3's into 1 large MP3, so you won't be able to skip tracks!).

It sounds to me like you will need to edit the songs you've downloaded to remove the silence anyway, as setting the track gap to 0 removes the pauses between the tracks.

there is a way to do this that was posted before from someone.
I know they did so it was just how you wanted it kenbitt so just helping to keep this thread alive in the hopes they will view this and come to your rescue lol

im al ittle confused; u said u dl the album which originally had no gap but there are gaps now since it has been converted to mp3; so that implies that the format you originally dl was not mp3?

Anyway, if u have separate tracks and all you want to do is burn them to music w/o gaps, Cdrwin , nero should allow that with the disk at once option.

If you want to merge the mp3's together into 1 big file, then mp3 merger is a pretty easy tool for that but then you wont be able to skip to the different tracks any more.

Thanx guys for the replies

Kalef there are no gaps or silence in the songs/tracks when track is finishing you can hear track 2 starting ( the last 2-3 seconds ) this is the same for all tracks so what i need to do is for example merge tracks 1,2 and 3 together so they play like one continuous mp3 but still have the book mark ( is this what it is called ?? ) so that it is possible to skip to track 3 while track 1 is playing this if needed do you understand what i mean ???

Thanx for anymore help offered there must be some way of doing this

Cheers

Kenbitt, look in the basic audio section of the forum for the post that says Tutorial on how to split MP3's. all answers are there

kenbitt, Sounds like you need to record them to the cd in disc at once mode using any of the major writing programs (as ubamous3 has already posted).

If you are listening to your mp3's through winamp etc, you may here 'gaps' between the tracks. But as you are saying that you can hear the next track start before the current one finishes I think ubamous3's advice will be your best option. They will sound like one continuous mp3, but you will still have the bookmarks :)

i know what your problem is.

unfortunately, when you encode mp3 a small amount of silence is inserted at the beginning of the track. thus when you burn them with 0 gaps there is a small annoying click between songs that join together over 2 tracks.

i have no idea about any software that will strip this silence automatically. you will need to edit the mp3s in something like soundforge and delete the silence at the start (and possilby the end). then burn your tracks with 0 space.

Sorry

No one seems to be getting the drift of my problem ...

THERE is no silence on any of the MP3 tracks mentiond

You know when you buy one of those dance compilation albums where ALL the tracks are mixed together with no gaps at all BUT there are still book marks ( or what ever they are called ) so you can skip from track to track... well when one of these albums is encoded to mp3 the mp3 software encodes everything between book marks does it not ??? thus when burned back to CD you get the silence between tracks which was not there on the original CORRECT ??? What i`m afetr is some softeware that will join back together ALL the tracks so it is just like the original + leaving in ALL the book marks so you can skip from track to track if required .
Is there any softeware out there that will do this ???

Cheers

kennbit, several apps automaticly add a 2 sec gap between tracks when burning........

When coding mp3,make a cuesheet with EAC,split it and join when you need to burn a cd

Hi Ken

Try Audio CD Maker by Avantrix. They have a demo you can tryout.
(www.avantrix.com) I think it will do what you want. One MP3 song ends, then the next one starts, but the tracks are still separated, allowing you to skip to, or select another MP3 track.
I don't have a MP3 player, so I play my MP3 cd's made with Audio CD Maker using Windows Media Player in Win XP, and it works fine for what I want
Audio CD Maker also allows you to put hours and hours of MP3's onto a cdr.

Check your pm

it's called "tittle markers" or "index markers" or "indices"

i'm using WaveLab to merge seperate titles together to a non-stop audio stream without gaps and with title markers; when you hear the CD at your player, you don't hear a gap between the titles, but for sure you can skip from title to title;

WaveLab isn't a low budget software, perhaps someone can tell you a free- / shareware program (i don't know) which can do it similar;

I've just gone through the process of copying all my CDs which includes about 50 dance 'mix' CDs of the type you suggest. I have used Nero 5 and removed the 2 second gap (as suggested by someone earlier) and there is no click or gap on the burned copies.

You can d/l a working Nero demo from www.nero.com
