How to cut Apple Movie (MOV) File?


From www.apple.com you can download movie trailers. Most of them start with a "This movie is bla bla bla"...none of interest.

With what software can I edit a MOV file so that I can cut out the notification (This move is suited for .....) and that the movie trailer can start directly with the movie?

If not possible, should the mov file first be encoded to mpeg and then with the help of TMPGEnc mpeg tools edit/cut the movie?

the auther of the page has written a MOV plugin for use with TMPGenc which will allow any quicktime movie to be read , i dont know if it will allow you to cut as i have never tried it

Just add the Pluggin as above to your TMPGenc folder, then convert the MOV to VCD or SVCD. Follow the DVD to VCD tutorial for how to do that. But in the Setting/Advanced/Source Range set the bit you actually want and encode on that bit. No editing or cutting needed later as all you did was encode the bit you want.
