whats up, ive been backing up my dvds files just fine and dandy..but latley

everything works the way they suppose to, when it comes time to play it on my dvd player...its choppy, skips to the next chapter..or just freeze...
i tried reinstalling all my software...with no luck..so its gotta be the dvd burner...right? it must be dirty..at least thats what i hope it is.

The sure+ working method is unmounting your drive, removing the top cover (this will void the drive warranty), and then using a tin of compressed air (widely available at electronics' stores) to spray the lens for 6-8 seconds from a distaance of 10-15 cm without touching or moving the lens at all. You can repeat the whole procedure after 3-4 minutes, just don't overdo it as the compressed air chills the plastic lens and it may do damage if applied for extended time. After that, simply put the cover back and remount.
NEVER, EVER use brushes, or CD/DVD cleaning kits- a laser misalignement resulting in bad burns is almost sure to happen.
