How to burn a bin file with nero

ok i selected burn image then browse to the bin file but it does not show up, i guess it will only show nrg. iso. cue. files. do i have to select show all files or something.

Nero looks for the cue file, if you only have the Bin file try the link below to create one.

Thanks for the link Tommy, i guess that means nero can't burn bin files then. oh yeah one more question do i put the other files that came with the bin flies with the new converted cue files in the same folder then burn it. thanks again

The best application to burn a .bin without a cuesheet is Discjuggler.
And mind you that a .bin file is not necessarily an image- it can also be a Unix/MACOS X executable.

yes, choose "show all files" and select the *.bin; most times Nero will choose the right import settings;

You CAN force a BIN into Nero - select any files, and then it'll take you to "Foreign Image settings" - not sure if what it shows to start with is merely a deault, or a guess at the correct mode - eg. does it recognise the sector size.

This may be ok for any image format that contains ONLY the data, and needs ONLY to be written as a single track. You can also select a size of image header and tail (presumably these are stripped)

 Thanks guys, you're all experts here. i was trying to burn a bootable cd from an iso to test my memory with memtest86. i will try to get disjuggler or the others you guys suggested, insted of messing around with nero. now that i am overclocked to 220 fsb with my new nf7-s. just wanted to make sure i'm not getting any errors. :D

When I saw Bin & Nero in the same header I thought maybe someone has seen the light (re DVD burning) & assigned Nero to the correct receptacle!!!!

Discjugller will automatically detect correct size image(in a most cases)--and im unaware that cdmate or some other software can do that too--so choice is simple---or make a cue for bulletproff situation!!!!:)

Nero burning cue/bin files

Yes Nero can and recognize the cue/bin format and burn them well, although their has been some thoughts and opinions that since it can only burn one track at a time that since some files like vcd's and svcd's they are basically 2 tracks and supposedly does not do these well, I have on many occasions, probably well over 100 times burned many vcd's and svcd's using nero to burn the cue/bin file when nothing else will work, the primary reason being that the file is so near the 80 minute limit that many cue/bin burning programs can not burn it as in Fireburner, I have used Fireburner well over several thousand times burning files and never had a bad burn, I can't say that about the other programs but I do like this new CDBurnerXPPro program and hope that they can some day come up with the patch to burn the cue/bin file as I think it would be a great program then.

I had some trouble with Nero and cue/bins. Didn't like them when "other files" had been added to the images. Corrupted the data. Yet they worked fine with Fireburner.

i have a bin and cue files on my hard drive how do i make them play on my ps2:( do i have to create an image if so how do i do it from bin and cue files or do i use the winrar file?????

cue/bin PS2

Yes I know what you are talking about getting the cue/bin files for cd's that are PS2 games but you will need to modify your PS2 game console to recognize these burnt cd's. On the preivous PS1 consoles this was easily done and you could even purchase the kits to modify the console. One place you can go to online is www.socalmods.com and another place to purchase mod chips is http://www.reversetools.org/ps2_mod_chip/ but currently without any modifications you will not be able to play any games burnt onto a cdr disk, I also know that in the PS1 consoles their was also something called a boot disk. Another place to purchase these boot disc's is http://www.modchipinc.com/ and currently they are having special prices on their items. I would strongly suggest you to quickly get these mod's asap as Sony has been cracking down on these mod's and the sales of them in the USA while they seem to be thriving over in England.

Creating PS2 games???

I am not really sure as to what you mean by creating your own games, unless you mean so that you can play the PS2 game disc's on your PC. From what I have read this is very hard to do and in some cases impossible, I am not into gaming and the like so I guess you should try asking someone else or better define your question in another string instead of the cue/bin burning string.

Fireburner

Ok I guess you can try Fireburner for burning the cue/bin to it and also their has been some discussion about what type of cdr to use, many believe that the black dye cdr must be used, I have searched this extensively and have had no luck on getting any definate answer on this, I had some black disc's once which came with a Teac 12x10x32 burner I had gotten but it would not recognize the black dye cdr which was a big bummer to me. Also you might want to check out some of the IRC game chat rooms, their are numerous rooms on Dalnet and Undernet for that forum.

Black CDR's on't use a black dye, they use the same dye as used in some regular CDR's.

To a CD drive there is no difference between a black CDR and any other.
