it seems that some people systems are unable to display the stills and this gives the impression that files are blank
files as small as say 12kb are definitly just blanks and I would leave them intact
others which are blank but obviously larger than 12kb contain more information than just a blank screen. I know because I also suffered from seeing blank yet the file was a lot bigger than 12kb
testing with Arianos I discovered that using the same player, he could see the image displayed yet I couldn't!!!! A few other testers also confirmed they could see the pictures yet I couldn't so I'm looking into why this is happening on my system as I can't be having that
. I can see most small files but on this occasion I couldn't specifically see this image
the other thing that Arianos discovered is that larger files that appear blank actually do contain an image! The image is text within the subtitles and therefore will appear blank no matter what player you use
personally I would just remove anything I can't see that I know is not a simple blank black screen with a small filesize of 12kb or so. I guess it's up to the user to decide on what they remove but make sure you do not remove anything like a language selection screen etc that may pop up before the menu. Always remember that if you discover you have not removed something that you can always reprocess again as long as you have click UNDO and kept your selection
it's best to run the DVD first and make a list of the stuff you want removing before the main menu and then cross them off the list when you find them in the items. If you don't find them all then you know it is hidden in one of the blanks you cannot see. It will take a little detective work but I'm sure most will manage it
