How does one burn a music cd

This may sound like a strange question, but how does one burn a music cd? What software is needed and/or recommended?

Have a large MP3 file (69 Mb) and want to make a playable cd of it to use on any type of cd player. Thanks in advance for any an all info incase I forget to say it latter.

Have tried EZ CD Creator 5.+ Plat. and it screwed the computer. Like NTI but kept coming up w/an underburn fault. Found this one excellent for copying reg. data files and music that isn't quite that large in MB. Someone rec. RecordNow and am going to give that a try after it downloads. Will let you know what I find.

Thank you for your assistance.

69 mb of mp3 I think is a complet cd.

I suggest first to decompress the mp3 file to a wav file, that's the file format that burn software uses. I know nowadays almost all burn software can decompress mp3 and burn all in one, but if the mp3 file is corrupted in a small sector all the burning expierience will be bad. To decompress mp3 you can download "Exact audio copy" and add the "lame compressor" all this software it's free and works great. The other great advantage of decompressing first it's cheking the wav file, and you can edit to modify if it needs (noises, etc).
Next step is to burn. You can choose many software for this, I think one of easyest is Nero or Feurio. Searching in the forum you will find more about this progs.

You can also try loading it straight into Musicmatch and burning it straight from there, no middleman. Good Luck.

Fire up a CDR program like Nero, NTI, WinOnCD and whatever you have. Select AUDIO option, Drag & Drop .MP3 files to it, then OK to burn.

You don't need to convert to anything, or doing anything more complicate than these simple steps.

I know you don't need... but as I sayd before a corrupt mp3 maybe checked by nero as ok and then stop the cd burning and in this way you can check the song, sometimes the downloaded mp3 files has some noises at the end or many silent seconds. I think this is hardest but the end result will be better. I tryed bost and still prefer the hard work.

Thank you for the update/info. Have tried and liked RecordNow Max. It is a very easy program to use even for those of us that are slow....

Thanks again to all!!!!!!!!!!!
