Alright all,

My problems is i have being asked to help with a web site , the thing is he stupidly deleted all the files there , his site supports All the Formats but is there a way that i can put the files back ? and will this affect the domain name forwarding not working proparly ?

example www.home.com blank page ?

http://123.456.789.666 Works the domain name was bought from the hosting company so it should have workd when he bought it


Any help?

depends on if hes hosting the site himself or an isp hosting the site....if isp is hosting the site...get the isp to re-install his files (unless with a crappy ISP/host)...they should be able to re-install the site....

errrm...thats all I know...sorry :(

Where did he delete the files from ? If it was the webspace he must have used an ftp program, yes ?

Do you have a back up of the site locally ?

If you do, just log into the webspace ( he should have the access details ), and upload the files via ftp again.

If he has no back up copy, then you are stumped, unless the host has them, however they normally take a snapshot of the server, if they have backed up the server after the files have been deleted then they are gone.

I don't know of any host who back's up individual sites, it's too time consuming.
