How do I get clips from vobs

Here is what i am trying to achieve,
I have a couple of multi episode dvds of the same cartoons which i want to split into individual mpg2 (DVD) cartoons and then re order and burn onto DVD.
I have re named the ripped vob files to mpg and tried splitting using TmpGenc which splits the files but leaves no sound.I have tried the same with other splitter software but still no sound.
Is there a way without re encoding?

Thats because TMPGEnc does not support AC3 audio. Try MPEG-VCR (www.womble.com) as it does handle AC3 audio.

Thanks chickenman, i have tried womble which also allows vobs without renaming but when i cut a section out of a vob the sound is no where near syncronised.

If the clips are boundaried by chapter marks on the original DVD, you can use DVD Decrypter in IFO mode to capture just the sections you want into new VOBs. Then use these to author a new DVD, or rename them to .MPG to use them for other purposes.
