How can you change the Windows2000 Serial key?

It seems that my key has been banned by Microsoft and I can't use windows update.

Is there any proggy (as in WinXp) that you can change the key from Windows themselves?

And if there is also tell me a valid cd-key ;)

search for the ms keygen elsewhere on this forum using the search button ;) then you need to look thro the registery for the serial that u used!

In win98 se using the command "regedit" typed at the run prompt under start menu you search for this key in the registery ...

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion

and the serial is on the right hand panel !

i assume it the same with win 2000 so edit it and replace it with the new key made with the kegen that you download from this forum

Are u sure that M$ banned your cdkey? I have not heard anything of this, and what I have heard is grumblings about this happening on XP and I am sure everyone else has seen or heard the same.

Have you just installed SP3? I heard that it has something to help stop piracy but I doubt it is true...

just installed sp3 on my 2k -- nothing weird has happened yet. i've even updated through their v4 update site. nothing weird yet as well. cache performance and stability seem to be better though. sp3 seems to have fixed the shutdown problem with my quantum scsi.
i hope nothing of that piracy thing happens. xp's SP1 is the reason i dumped xp in the first place.

As it has been already mentioned before the v4 WindowsUpdate checks for blacklisted cd-key and I am not able to install any of the Fixes. When I press "Review and Install" it says that there was an error in the Wizard.

And yes I have just intallede SP3. (In reallity Just installed Win2k because SP3 released :) )
