How 2 rip protected music Cd

Just bought an cd with Helmut Lotti " My tribute to the King".

On the backside of the case it stands like this.

"This disc contains Copy Control Technology.
It is designed to be compatible with cd audio players,
dvd players and pc."

If i try to play the cd with my cd-player ( Axialis Cd-player )
i got an click about every 10-12 seconds.

But if you use the built-in player on the CD it´s no problem at all.

No the problem if i want to rip this to mp3 i´ve got this click
every 10-12 seconds.
The best so far to fix it was EAC but you can still hear it.

Any suggestions how to fix it so i don´t hear this clicking.

After u find a way to do it, take the cd back and get your money back.
It is obviously not compatible!

@ Daveml
That was my first thought when i went home from the store. :D

But if i use that player they have on the cd it´s no problem.
My problem is that i can´t rip it to mp3 :( without getting
this noise.

Any solution here on this forum

It's all depend on what HW/SW You have to be able to copy
a protected Audio CD (Game CD to).

With my old External SCSI Plextor UltraPlex and Feurio I can copy almost every Audio CD protection.

Corrupt CD Reports
From Oscar, the Netherlands
Comes with anti-PC warning. Copying: Popular Belgian artists covers 16 Elvis-songs. Released by: EMI Belgium. "This CD contains copy control technology" on the back cover in about the same font size as the track listing, and an explanatory note in smaller font, indicating that PC playback is possible but can cause problems on some machines. CD is protected with Cactus Data Shield 200. Did not buy it.

Have you got a Plextor drive? If so then you have Plextools.
I find plextools very usefull when ripping bought cds to wav/mp3.

@ kunolobo

The problem is with this protection that you can´t make an perfect copy with CloneCD.

You will have this "tick" every 10-12 seconds anyway.

Of course, my burner Nec7500a isn´t the newest one.

Maybe with another burner

copycat, try to rip it with EAC to your harddisk......you will see 16 audiotracks and 1 data track....if your reader is able to extract the 16 audiofiles with EAC,the protection will be gone.......

....copying a cds200 prot. disc needs certain hw and sw.With for eg. the asus 48x you wont be able to back-up cp music (to be true not a key2audio v.?? protected disc that I have) .With the 48xplex it´s possible .@copycat: sorry to say I´m not quit sure your burner is capable of bu copy prot music. The "ticks every 15 sec" or so you refering to is a affect of the cds200 prot. Its nonrepable c2 errors that occurs with some readers/burners used for reading....no offense just my sent.....

The best thing that you can do mate, is to take the CD back to where you bought it and ask for a refund or store credit for selling you a defective product (I would call it defective).

Talk about encouraging people to copy music! When record companys do stupid things like that, they are actually encouraging people not to buy the CD as he has done, but to go and find a copy elsewhere. Not really clever if you ask me.

Id.

Here is another site to look at

@ Pokopiko
It would someday be an Plextor what i understand on most
of the people who rip cd´s.

@ M.I.T.
Thanx for the links....very good info.

My problem for the moment is that i don´t have this cd anymore.
I gave it away to my mother-in-law for her 60th birthday.

Maybe i can lend it from her, just tell her that i´m going to rip it :D
