when downloading from sites using internet explorer, the download usually has "1.7 out of 3.2 complete", mine has "Opened So Far"

how do i change this back so i can see how big the file is, and such?]

Try opening IE, click Tools menu followed by Internet Options.

When this dialog opens click Advanced tab then click the Restore Defauls button, should sort the problem.
