Thank you I found Windows Media Video 7 was not supported. I downloaded latest Windows Media Player (9.0) and installed. After that it works fine.

First two hits for GSpot on google are relivant. Trust me, I wouldn't suggest searching google for "GSpot" if I hadn't tried it first.

You don't need wmp v9 to play WMV1. The highest version I have installed is v6.4 and windows medai 7, 8 and 9 all play fine.
