Help me remove Modem

supra max modem is not compatible with winxp
when i install xp sp2 1213 ,
i have a problem with reinstall correct driver for my supra max

when i update driver, remove or uninstall this modem
window warning like this "windows could not load the installer for modem contact vendor for assistance"

how can i do ?
can i re-install especially modem from original cd?
I found modem.cab but i don't know how to re-install only modem

Well,as what you have downloaded and installed is a BETA I suggest you uninstall sp2 and wait for the official release.If it ain't broke don't install sp2 !

1. Unplug the modem.
2. Remove the modem drivers.
3. Go to the folder c:\windows\inf (it's a hidden folder) and open with notepad all files named oemx.inf (x is a variable). You should be able to see to which device this installation file refers to, delete all the oemx.inf files that are linked to the modem- and also delete the corresponding .pnf files. be careful NOT deleting other .inf files, or else you must reinstall other parts of your hardware!
And as zen correctly pointed out, using beta stuff when you don't feel too familiar with the way windows works (?!) is not a good idea. You should only use approved official XP updates from Windows update- although most of the times those updates too fix one thing and break two... at least in that case you can find some documentation if something goes wrong.
