Hardware Config + Software

Hi,

I'm having trouble getting my LG Dvd-Rom to read DATA and VIDEO DVD-R's written by my MSI DRA4 using Nero 60019 (I know a lot of people will say its the media quality).

My system config is like this............
Mobo: Abit Nforce2 NF7-S v2.0 WinXP Home Edition+SP1+updates no other hardware problems at all

Primary Master: MSI DRA4
Primary Slave: LG GDR8160B (16x/48x)

Secondary Master: Plextor 52/24/52A Premium CDWriter

DVD-R's used eProformance and Mirror Platinum (both rated at 2x)

Is it worth altering the drives sequence?
I believe having the MSI as a Primary is an absolute must.

Could this be any better...........

Primary Master: MSI DRA4
Secondary Master: LG
Secondary Slave: Plextor

I have just used Burnatonce 0.99A and my LG will read the discs, albeit a little slowly at spinning up.
So, overall do you think it could be a problem with NERO? Should I try RecordNowMax? What is Gear Software like - worth a try?

Any pointers and advice would be gratefully received,

Thanks,

Spk.

Update, I was using cheap DVD-R's for general data and video writing, my mates got a Lite-On 146(?) dvd-rom, I recorded two data discs and a video-dvd for him, they dont work in his either! I burnt those with NERO.

Yesterday I nipped into PC World (UK) and bought 10 Imation +R's 4x writing for £32 sterling (ouch!). I've just written a dvd-video and a data disc and my dvd-rom reads it perfectly (have yet to try it on someone elses).
These Imation discs are identified as Ritek G02
My eProformance discs are identified as ProDisc R01

Any info on Gear Pro Software?

Thanks,

Spk.
