Fresh Download

Apart from the ad and web-bug loaded email they send for every update, I'm not aware of any downsides.

NB. I use Download Express from www.metaproducts.com .... I don't actually use this one - I do use Fresh Diagnose from the same people!

Download Expert is another pssibility - I used it for a while, but it's style is not to everyones taste

It was the darling of the alt.comp.freeware newsgroup, until it lost favour due to a bad version, with a new feature that was somewhat broken - ok now, but I left it and never went back.

http://www.stardownloader.com/ - some good reports, but some versions had uninstall problems, believed to be ok now.

http://www.leechget.de/ - Has received some praise

Free, exhellent and without ads is Net Transport, currently one of the best 3-4 downloaders for win available, disregarding price.

I've been using FlashGet for a while now, and i'm very pleased with it...
It's just that a few months ago I made a change to Mozilla and stopped using Internet Explorer. I was used to the browser integration of FlashGet and IE, but I can't put it to work in Mozilla and it's a pain to copy & paste everyu URL to FlashGet.

So I was searching for a good download manager/accelerator with Mozilla integartion, and Fresh Download caught my attention.

I will try what was suggested here, but if anyone knows how to put Mozilla & FlashGet to work, I'd be very appreciated... :)

Thank You!

incognitu: Flashget can use the Opera plugin with Flashget. No shell extensions though.
Reget deluxe offers rightclicks extensions under Mozilla and Firebird- it's a good manager, but not my fav.
If you want rightclick extensions for Mozilla and firebird, you must get the Flashget vbscript files (jk_link.htm and jk_all.htm, to be found at flasget folder) and transfer them to a .jar file, which is supported by Moz. Of course the tranferring is a bit tricky- I'm pretty good at java coding, but a moron when coning to visual basic. The initial scripts were made by Vladimir Romanov(Author of ReGet Pro), and are used more or less in all Windows download managers for IE integration (with small modifications, according to the program code).
It would be easier to modify the reget.jar Mozilla/Firebird extension (you will find it in the /chrome directory of Mozilla when you install reget after Mozilla) to fit Flashget. That would be a bit easier, but a bit unethical, too.

Has anyone tried Fresh Download? Is it good? Does it have any spyware?

Thanks!
Used it for a while and no probs. To get rid of any extra stuff you might not want that comes w/it - just run AdAware (spyware remover) after installing fresh download and then all you get is what you want!

Try Fresh Diagnose & Fresh UI too. (just run a spyware remover after installation!)
