French Letters!

I've been copying french music CD's for family and I'm unable to insert accented letters into the text, I'm using XP Home, is there software or a feature that will let me do it.. I have a feeling that I am probably not seeing the wood for the trees here.. and that its probably right under my nose.. (the solution..)

Any help appreciated..

From the XP CD?, had a feeling the solution was there already..

start>>settings>>control panel>>regional settings

its regional and language settings for xp then Languages Tab and then Details - replace the existing language with french or add to the list
