Feurio and Sony

i'm having problems with Feurio-burnt CDs on my Sony crx195e4 (40x12x48). It seems like:
1. discs rated at 24x only want to burn at 16x
2. successful burns refuse to eject, even manually (with my middle finger)
3. (related to #2), an error message pops up, saying that the drive responded to an illegal command (the command was eject in this case)
4. to eject, i have to load a different software (recordnow max in this case) just to send an eject command.

as the sony wasn't listed in feurio's cdrw database, it was set up as a generic MMC.
i also am running a Yammie 8824 (8x8x24) on the same machine, also set up as a generic MMC under feurio. never had problems like the one on the sony.
don't tell me to dump the sony (yet).
i suspect a feurio driver selection error on my part. any suggestions?

yup. did. off feurio's site (not ahead's). 1.65.5 - no mention of that particular model though.
since i do most of my work with audio, feurio was the logical choice after sonic foundry stopped shipping CD Architect (it doesn't work with sound forge 6, and i don't know of a standalone version). This situation really sucks the big green one!

Yeap, I'm using Feurio 1.65 and works fine, so I didn't want to update to 1.65.5 and my lite-on wasn't recognized so I have to update drivers. I think the new version has this drivers included, but in the feurio main page you can check the supported burners and be sure that yours is included.

poko, i also use wavelab, but mainly for audio mastering (soundforge being my main editing tool, and cool edit for restoration). i guess burning with WL is an acquired skill? :)
it runs off the same PX engine as feurio, doesn't it?
by the way, sabio, i speak some spanish. cool handle! :D
oh oh oh oh oh -- minor update. i burned a couple of verbatim 40x cdr's . problem did not manifest itself this time. have i been one of the lucky few that successfully burned an otherwise defective disc? previous to the verbatims, i was using sony cdr's rated at 24x (yup, i burned them at 24x, too).
weird. just plain f**king weird. i am listening to the supposedly damaged zero-gapped audio cd as i write.

i'll take that beer now.
