Feature request

a lot of people?

I have only heard on one person getting an invalid path message with the recent versions (for some unknown reason) as DS now checks paths but I may have missed some posts

the paths are loaded and checked on starting DS and if a path is invalid since the last time it was used, it will display no path at all and the NEXT button will be greyed out

when you specify a path as soon as you hit OK, it's updated in the DS settings so the only way you can really mess it up is to modify one of folders after you click Rip and before it has completed the Ifoedit Process but wouldn't that affect any program?

the only button you can still press is Rip (which will soon be disabled anway) but it is beyond me why people would press Rip before setting the paths but you never know :)

I know there are still holes regarding paths but it's quite hard to make a mistake if you follow the simple instructions to settings paths to upset the complete process ;)

Wanted to place my vote for this feature in a future release. Audio tracks are definitely big consumers of dvd space. So while we are removing unwanted video material, it makes sense to be able to remove unwanted or unneeded audio and subtitle tracks. We know that IFOEdit can do it; just need the DVDStripper interface to give us that option and safely/correctly do it.

Thanks.
I know it makes sense but Ifoedit cannot strip streams from individual PGC's or titles, only streams from the complete Titleset :(

if it could it would have been implemented in the 1st version :)

Hi MackemX & The MadGuy, also....of course!,

Another feature I would like to see............The ability to rip/run DVDS from a complete set of DVD's files on one's hard drive, [no not a virtual drive] as well as from the original DVD disk source.

Thanks

PS - Greet's to Arianos!

OK. I guess a couple of people. Saw complaints from lmhosts and 0xdeadbeef. Since the comments ran for several posts, I construed that as a lot of people when in fact it was a couple of people spending a lot of time resolving the invalid path message.

Of course DS 0.2.0 has probably fixed most of those issues. I was just thinking that error messages that were specific could help new users find out which path they hadn't created.

Hi

no worries my friend :), lmhosts confirmed he is no longer plagued by the missing path issue as did the only other 2 guys I know who were affected

as for 0xdeadbeef, I think we all know exactly what his issues are and don't wish to discuss it anymore ;)

I'm pretty sure you and quite a few others know the lengths we go to fix errors. Even if it is just affecting 1 person and it's a genuine issue, it will be looked at and addressed. Anyone can feel free to say we haven't if you feel hard done by ;)

a lot of threads will contain old issues from earlier version I suppose and be misleading to newbies. We are also aware of current issues that affect a few users. We are working on those too and know exactly what the issues are and all we ask is that people give us time to implement the fixes :)

cheers

Boy, what a hostile attitude...

Anybody can look at your threads to see who has the hostile attitude. There are people here who really need help, and appreciate it.

Anyways, one of the admins has banned you. This is not a playground.

Hi MackemX,

Are you planning to implement "Please Insert Disc x" messages on the screen as part of the Split option? (I mean something along the lines of DVD X Copy).

Thanks.

it's one of the ideas but when or if it's implemented I don't know :(
