England VS Brasil 1 all

Okay where half way threw the match points drawn what could happen next?

Brasil scored there goal in added time brillent :D

Just thought I would tell ya all ,

lol joripe - brasil was just an ordinary south american team - yeah well they were good for an ordinary side :), "nigel martin a *better* goalkeeper" - what are u on - think i need some of that . . .

as for the brazilian sending off - it was too harsh - i think fifa need to sort out some of these referees.

england should had at least scored a 2nd goal - but i think we were outclassed even when brasil had 10 men.

as for seaman - i think he did well - plus he had that nasty fall and still played on - he let in 2 very good goals by the brailians - i dont blame him.

But all those things were not enough, England is simply a good team, but not that good to win even a mediocre Brazil.
agreed - i didnt expect England to win against Brazil. Before Ronaldinho was sent off - i expected Brazil to beat us 3 - 1. i really believe that if he hadnt been sent off - they would had scored another. dont even know what happened to ronaldo - he was pretty quiet during the match

@joripe - yes i remember - but having said that - i still dont think Nigel Martin is a better goalkeeper than seaman- and i still dont blame seaman for letting in those two goals - cos those goals were good - i just wish it werent the brazilians driving the ball when it crossed the line and into the net.

I am happy that we are still in the game but this german football isn´t the football i like to see....sad to say that it is successful. (with a lot of luck)

I hate to say it but....

On the day Brasil were the better team.
Mistakes were 1 each and Brasil scored a very good first goal.
Brasil played the very hot conditions very well. They let the ball do the work and not their legs.
England were very tired by the time the Brasilian got sent off and couldnt make it count.
I dont think the guy intentionally kicked Mills but he did (full set of studs on his shin), although it was never a sending off.
Rivaldo commited a much more dangerous challenge in the first half, a two footed jump tackle, which didnt even earn him a yellow.
All in all no complaints as we've done very well with a very young side.
We didnt lose on penalties (for once!) and we weren't robbed by the Germans and their two goalkeepers. Hell of a save that on the line by the defender and the useless jock referee didnt even see it. Where was a Celtic fan with a missile when you needed one! :D :D

hehe

corea is gonna fry the spaniards - and then grill the brazilians, or should they bbq them ? :D - go on Korea ! ! ! (it'll be a miracle if they win the cup!)

Well master, its true they don't play well (as I mentioned since 1988 when they lost to Holland in the EURO Cup), But to be become a champ you have to have that little bit of luck and till now they have had it. Watch out for the Panzers :D .

I just finished eating, and now I'm surfing during a while then I will watch the taped game and then I will be able to give a correct remark on the game. I will only say that from the comments I have heard from people talking about the game, Brazil was a rightouse winner.

About Roberto Carlos, It's not only because he scores now and then a goal, that looks like a missil, but because on his position I consider him the best Player those days. Now and then he makes some bluffers, but he recovers easily, what can't be said from other players.

Brazil has great players, but I repeat, the problem is that in 1970 the players played for their shirt (their country), nowadays they play for their pockets what makes them play as individualists and not as a great team.

Returning to England, you guys remember I mentioned a final between England and Portugal. I mentioned it as a sarcastic comment because I knew both of them weren't prepared to reach the final. Portugal because of the a*****e of Oliveira, which by the way resigned voluntarily (if the federation had fired him, they had to pay him 350000 euros for the "real good work" he did. The name going arround to replace him is Hiddink, but i would prefer Coelho, but you all know how this works). England has become really better, but I repeat, they are still missing some team spirit. This really important for a good team (look at two examples: South Correa (they all do their best) and Brazil were they are missing it, but still capable of playing good matches).

That's right Poko, because they still play football with some innocence and joy for the game. Let's see if Senegal survives and what will then happen.

I hope England, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Russia, Austria and some others I'm missing now, recover their greatness as teams. This can be done only with coaches that have panths and demand from the players, if they want to play for their country, that they play thinking about the country and not their pockets.

Enough blabla, in a few ours we will know all semi-final teams and then I will risk a bet :D .

Cheers,

El_Matador

PS: O, I forgot, just saw in the news paper that the Italian fans are saturating the e-mail service of FIFA (400000 last 3 days) with angry messages. More stupid is the FIFA come out and say that the referee commited mistakes during the match. If it was the other way around, now everything was forgotten and nothing happened, but as you can see even FIFA can be a peace of S**t (Blatter is killing FIFA, and the powerfull countries didn't have the guts to stop him, I hope when they woke up it's not too late)
