Video game publisher Eidos has agreed to amend all versions of Hitman 2: Silent Assassin to address concerns expressed by the Sikh Coalition. Thirty-five Sikh organizations around the globe demanded that Eidos recall Hitman 2 because they believed the game incites racism and hatred against Sikhs and Dalits by linking them to terrorism. In recognition of Sikh concerns, Eidos and developer IO Interactive have agreed to change the existing versions of Hitman 2 on all platforms currently in general circulation and adapt the next edition of the game, to be published for GameCube. "Eidos and IO Interactive would like to stress that no offence was intended but would like to apologize to the Sikh community and other persons for any offence taken," Eidos said in a public statement.
