edonkey, how do you connect?

just leave it to connect to servers - sometimes it does take a long while before it manages to connect though - but you just need patience i guess.

depends on your connection type, up- and download bandwidth;
use the wizzard, he does the right thing;

im using a 2MB Blueyonder...
don't know 2MB Blueyonder, Is it Cable or DSL? Is it 2302 kbit/s up and 2302 kbit/s down, or is it 384 kbit/s up and 2302 kbit/s down?

lets compute:
Upload: if 384 kbit/s, that are 48 kb/s => recommended value 70% = around 33 kb/s
Upload: if 2304 kbit/s too, that are 288 kb/s => recommended value 70% = around 201 kb/s

Download: 2304 kbit/s are 288 kb/s => recommended value 80% = around 230 kb/s

Max Connections: 100 for W9x/ME, 500 for W2k/XP
if you use a router, then limit down the "Max Connections" to the router's internal limit; don't forget port forwarding in your router;

about the wizzard, i mixed up eDonkey and eMule;

Its Cable

What should I set the max connections to I do have a Router.... And what you mean by port forwarding on my Router, How do I do that..

I think its 256kbit/s Download and 30-60kbit/s Upload...
What setting should I set to

most of them can not handle more than 150 simultaneously connections; so try 150, if the router freezes low down the value;
P2P via "low/mid price consumer router" is a pain; you simply should forget it;

And what you mean by port forwarding on my Router, How do I do that..
take a look at the manual or at the FAQs at fabricator's homepage; i'm not a network guy with the proper knowledge to explain this the right way;

I think its 256kbit/s Download and 30-60kbit/s Upload...
Why the heck is it called 2MB Blueyonder?
"30-60kbit/s Upload" it should be a fixed value?
e.g. i'm on ADSL 768kbit/s download and 128kbit/s upload;

What setting should I set to
simply divide the ISP guaranteed kbit/s bandwidth values by 8, so you get kb/s as result;
then enter 70% of the kb/s upload value into eDonkey "Max Upload Speed" form field,
and 80% of the kb/s download value into eDonkey's "Max Download Speed" form field;

and don't mix up kbit/s = kilo bit per second
with kb/s = kilo byte per second;

eDonkey form fields need to be filled with kb/s values;
in "Line Speed Down" field enter the real download bandwidth (in kb/s of course)

So how long would it tak you to download a full CD...
If you had to upload a full CD how long would that take....

it would depend on spreading and how many are seeking after, i think about 12 hours;
but i don't download CDs because it would be illegal; i use it only for downloading/sharing home made music and home made vacation videos;

If you had to upload a full CD how long would that take....
nobody can answer this question, because you upload only chunks and these addressed to many different users;

So how would I put 2MB Cable Connection.... What settings would be for the 2MB connection..
isn't it answered above:
"Upload: 2304 kbit/s are 288 kb/s => recommended value 70% = around 201 kb/s
Download: 2304 kbit/s are 288 kb/s => recommended value 80% = around 230 kb/s
in "Line Speed Down" field enter the real download bandwidth (in kb/s of course) = 288 kb/s
"

might be worth for you to take a look at this: http://forum.overnet.com/

"Max Connections" does not depends on your bandwidth;
"most routers can not handle more than 150 simultaneously connections; so try 150, if the router freezes low down the value;"
