Easy cd creator and burner

Hopefully, someone can help me, i dont know much about this...

i installed this CD-RW on my machine (OS win 98)

properties of it in the device manager says: "52X24X52 CD-RW" device is working properly

i CAN use it to read cd-rom, but as soon as i try to open Easy Cd creator, i ll get an error message and it ll close....actually, when i did install it (Easy Cd creator 5) i got an error message that they were no device for it.

So, it seems to be installed OK, but that software wont detect it...

is it possible that the RW function is disabled somewhere in the computer profile?

Can you be more specific about that error message, and are there more than one?

I'm trying to recall some old notes, a DLL version mismatch that could cause some really scary errors

Seen it in ECDC4 - but it may still be a problem in V5 - it wasn't a "fatal" error in V4 though, but it was in some other programs - I think it ended up with an errors such as "A deviced attached to the system is not functioning" as well as a "Missing export in..." - those TWO errors, paired, are a sure sign of that DLL mismatch - and ther have been a few bad programs which cause it, though they are naturally not the victim of it.

Unless it came with the drive, it's also possible that the drive is too recent to be supported, or an update may be required.

Install the 5.3.5 Update before the driver update - and ignore the hard sell for Version 7, as it can't be used with Win95/98 or WinME
