DVR-105 v1.30 - 2x4All ?

Hello Folks,

Looks like the folks at The FirmWare Page are moving right along with their Hacking of the Pioneer DVR-105 Firmware.

A couple of days ago they released a FirmWare that updated the Pioneer DVR-105 Firmware to 1.30, Region Free, and 2 speed burning with RitekGO3 DVD-R disc.

Now they are on the verge of releasing a Hacked Firmware that with allow 2x4all burning for DVD-R disc for the Pioneer DVR-105.

Visit the following link (DVR-105 v1.30 - 2x4all Release Candidate) for amplifying information.

Fantastic news, I have been waiting for this for some time now. Just upgraded and about to test it out on some CMC media.

Just burnt a 4.35 gig movie file to a CMC00RG200 dvdr at 2x using Nero 5.5.10.15a

Plays back excellent as if its burnt at 1x on both my PC and Hitecker (Apex) AD600 DVD Player. No skipping or jumping and plays right to the very end.

Fantastic !!

its good

had some datasafe 1x spares and some datawrite
classic yellow 1x

burned 2 of each @2x no errors perfect

think i'll buy another 105

WOW!!!!

Man talk about timing!!!!

I just bought my Pioneer A05 3 days ago...Bought a batch of "Princo DVD-R" at 1X. Burned my second movie on it (Spiderman) at 2X with DVD Decryptor.

Played it on my home DVD player and no problem playing the movie! It plays flawlessly:cool:

Man this is absolutly a fantastic release!!!!

A big thanks to the coders of this file:p

Regards,

when i tried this new firmware it mentions 1.21 is this normal?
I'm curious cause this firmware was released on the 1st of April.

Wether the dvd plays or not is not really the issue for me.
Its , does it read back into the hdd with no errors?
Some media was removed from pioneers 2x approved list because of errors.
Hacking the firmware may bring the errors back.
I have had several discs that played perfectly but gave read errors in dvd decryptor. (not made by me tho. ;) )
Some of the media removed from the earlier firmwares was because of lisencing problems.
Some was removed because its just not up to the job.

The initial link by Coaster if browsed down reports numerous instances of badly burned/ unreadable DVD's- so the hack works only with some type media, and not with others. So you have to toy a bit, qand accept a handful of coasters until you find the "golden rule".

Works perfectly with Bulkpaq & Datawrite (Princo) 1X discs! :)

Both with DVD Decrypter and Stomp ZERO coaster maker which is all I use or care about anyways. :D

It works. (got confused when prog askes to upgrade firmware to 1.21)burnt datawrite yellow, perfect playback

I've now done quite a few of my Sigma CMC00RG200 dvd's and I can confirm every one plays perfect and is also able to be copied back to HD error free.

It is all a mater of "suck it and see". If it works with the media you have flawlessly, then go for it. But do expect an odd coaster, so you need to thoroughly test every burn. The biggest reason Pioneer did not approve some brands was because of the inconsistancy between different production lines. This is the case for Ritek G03 media, so while one batch may work, dont expect the next batch you get to also work. Just proceed carefully and you will get the results your after.

Thanks for the feedback!!.Just proves that you need to test it with different types of media. My 1X Princo's work fine at 2X,but other brands might be a no go at 2x.
