DVD to DVD-R Problem

I followed chickenman's tute on how to backup DVD to DVD-R, but when i go to burn it onto a blank DVD with nero, it tells me that it is to big and won't fit. The movie i was trying to backup is just short off 2 hours long with 5.1 sound.

Any solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

One problem is that you cant set the Audio bitrate higher than 384 in DVD2SVCD while many dvd's/avi's have 5.1ch AC3 at 448 bitrate. So when authoring, the final files can be just that bit to big.

Solution is to lower the CD size to 4300 in the Bitrate tab of DVD2SVCD in future encodes when you have 448 AC3 audio in the avi.

You can use DVD Shrink to do a full backup of the files you authored and it will shrink it down a little so as to fit to a dvdr. That way you dont have to re-encode the whole movie again. A 1% compression by Shrink wont do much quality damage either.
