Hi Mac...,

The exact problem given in the email is DVDStripper is not able to see any DVDs in the source drives, and follows up with message: "Your drive F: is not ready!"

Mac. I'll attach a copy of the gifs and email below for your review. Thank you for your time and consideration.

------------------- Copy of Email with problem details ---------------

My system profile in summary is:

1) DVD ROM Sony Model DDU-1621 and DVD+RW Writer Sony DRU-510A both read the DVD (e.g. Elizabeth) just fine.

2) My current DVD Decrypter ver. 3.1.7.0 by iteslf has and continues to read my two above drives and extract without issue, also just fine.

3) My current Ifoedit ver. 0.95 by itself has and continues to read my two above drives and extract vob ids without issue, also just fine.

4) I mainly use DVDclone for backup duplication, and DVD Shrink for ripping the main movie without menus preserved. This was
the main reason along with feedback that I chose DVDStripper allowing me to keep menus.

4) My system meets the minimum requirements: WinXP O/S, P4 3Ghz, 1Gb Ram, seperate 200gb hard drive dedicated for Video.

5) I have the latest firmware for the above drives. I tried upgrading the VB6 runtime files without any change.

Please let me know if you can offer any helpful suggections other than those already provided in the DVDstripper forums and manual which I've read.
Thankk you kindly for your time and attention.

DVDStripper - DRIVE NOT READY - Your Solution?

I'M just glad that I'm not the only one having trouble. It looks like DS doesn't like ME and my computer is not up to running XP. DVD95 had problems also with ME but Digi fixed the problem after enough people who bought it, couldn't use it
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Gmartin,

MackemX posted you resolved the "Drive Not Ready" problem that you, and others had. Would you be kind enough to share the solution you found. Thank you kindly.

@physica

firstly, please do not use another username and stick to using physica at least where this thread is concerned

can you please stop posting about this issue in the manner you are? as it is too confusing to understand. I am now fully aware of the issue you are suffering from. I hope you are not sending PM's to other members about this problem as you have already asked them in this thread. I sure they will reply here if they have the time or the answers to your questions :). You do not have to post repeat posts to each user all the time. I have deleted your poll as you are the only one suffering from this issue that I know of at the minute so please keep it in this thread. If it was an issue for anyone else I'm sure I would be aware of it

also take note of what I am posting as you have still not replied as to whether you have tried disabling the virtual drive or whether you have installed the VB6 files or the other 2 files :(. It's only ratpad and gmartin who have reported this issue and this was raised with an earlier version in October and a Beta soon fixed that. If you have still have an issue then I'm sure a few system file updates will soon sort out your PC as you should not be getting this error with the latest version but you must start to read my posts fully and give me the answers I need

cheers :)

can I just ask what this is in DVDDecrypter?. I know it's not your F:\ but can I ask if this is your Virtual Drive?

It was the ONLY way to get a reply. It worked.

To answer your question, NO, F: is not my virtual drive its my DVD-ROM Sony DDU-1621 (info sent to you via email & past posts), and YES VB6 files are already installed as I mentioned to you emails & posts to you.
With respect you might also want to re-read them.

Now, first the forum kept locking me out so I could not post. Hence the reason for logging on with a new ID. IT WORKED, and you answered! but still no solution since I queried since Saturday.

Now, today you replied and stated other members (i.e. ratpad, gmartin and fsdenseell) also experienced and solved this issue. Since I received no reply with the solution you mentioned it was only fair and reasonable to ask the members you cited to get the solution. This was simple and increased the likelihood of getting a solution, which benefits others with this issue should it ever arise.

MACKEMx: As an option I'm happy to offer thereby relieving you of any "inconvenience" just refund me, saving time.

what do you mean it worked?. It is not the only way to get a reply. Posting the way you did or sending emails means you will get a reply?. Why not mention what happened with your login in your first post as DVDStripperHELP?. I have restored the posts as I see no point in removing them. The images have disappeared but don't worry as you hae already sent them via email

I initially replied in just over 30 minutes to your original post  . Don't think that your posts made me reply quicker in any way at all as I treat everyone the same and I will deal with the as fast as I can

why not just email me and say you cannot login and then answer the questions?. I just asked you do not email me questions that are on the forum also as I do not have time to answer individual issues that have already been raised :(

I don't need to read your emails again as I have stated that I know which issue you have but you are simply not reading my posts and answering my questions :(

I knew that the Sony was your F:\ as it was in your picture but why is DVDDecrypter picking up an unknown drive and what is it and what should it be?. My 2 virtual drives are picked up just fine by DVDDecrypter as Generic Stealth drives

how can you blame DS for an issue with your PC before you even try fixing it with my suggestion and just ask for a refund instead?

it has been shown that DS is ME compatiable and I cannot help if some users systems do not work immediately with DS due to conflicyting software or virtual drives and all I ask is that people give us time to deal with it

your patience seems very short as you are basically demanding instant support and you must accept that there are also other owners of DS I must deal with. I have seen the same things 3 times now and yet you never answered my questions in the forum like I asked you to in the very first email. even now you have still not stated whether you have tried DS with the virtual drives disbled. I also asked if you had tried the files, also meaning the other 2 files in this thread http://www.dvdrbase.com/showthread.php?p=192745#post192745

If someone has an issue in most occasions they will normally give the developers time to discuss and troubleshoot the issue. Even in your first post you asked for a refund so I have refunded. I have no problems with that at all as you have now mentioned it numerous times

I actually think the manner in which you are implying sounds like 'fix it now or I want my money back now' and I hope it's not that mean't in that way :(

you are not an 'inconvenience' at all, I just ask that you read posts fully and try to understand them better, posting replies without reposting the same info. If you still get DS working then if you feel humble enough feel free to purchase DS again as I will not hold you to it even if it does work

I will repeat again, try disabling your virtual drive and installing the 2 files in the link as that is all I can suggest for now. Also note that the 2 other guys in this thread both got it to work using the files and the newer version in October (now a very old version) and therefore there is no need to keep asking them how they fixed it and as far I know you are the only one suffering from this issue now and not ratpad or gmartin

cheers

p.s. please understand DenFussell did not suffer from this issue as although I say it you still keep mentioning him . He only mentioned he had ME on one of his 10 systems and was going to change his OS

Hi Mackem - Here's your answers.

Hi MackemX,

Please no more drama on the forum, since of my emails have been answered the forum it your preference.

Let's try to play nice with the least fanfare.

O.K. Here are your answers to your questions, again.

1) Yes. The two (2) VB files (i.e. C:\windows\system32\comdlg32.ocx
and C:\Windows\system32\mscomctl.ocx) have been installed

2) Yes. The two (2) programs of Ifoedit ver. 0.95 and DVDDecrypter
ver. 3.1.7.0 are installed.

3) Yes. I have disabled the virtual drives.

4) Yes. I have read ALL the files you suggested with the only new info being to disable the drives.

Please let me know what other steps you can offer. Is a refund still available?

Sincerely,

Sincerely,
this just shows you do not read, or at least understand my posts

first, stop sending emails that are exactly the same as your posts as it's beginning to get on my nerves as I have asked you to stop posting info more than once on more than one occasion now. I have also asked you more than once to use the forums as a means of communcication instead of sending duplicate emails to me regarding this issue so that others may benefit from the information :(

second, did you miss the bit where I said I have refunded you?. You should have also received an email from Paypal saying you were refunded, so again I just cannot understand why you ask about a refund?

start taking notice of what I am saying and asking or I will be forced to take action as this is becoming rather repetitive

lastly, looking at your picture why is your F:\ shown as a CD-Drive in windows explorer instead of a DVD-ROM?. Have you tried a DVD in your G drive?
