DVD stripper

So far I can't get the program to work. I installed the program on my desktop, used the registeration key, put ifoedit ini in windows folder, set up folders for the temp, output and backup files but the program does not read the dvd in my reader, it keeps saying that it is not ready. What did I do wrong? Decrypter reads the dvd with no problem.
Thanks gmartin

you sound as if you have the old 0.1.0 version and are either clicking NEXT or not telling DS the drive which contains the DVD

anyway, read the post on how to get the latest version 0.1.1 and then we can look at your problem again :)

Hi

are you pressing the Rip button when you have set the paths up?

is the DVD path shown the correct one?

are you clicking NEXT when you have put all the paths in?

can you take a snapshot of what it's saying when it's not ready?

cheers

I recieved 1.01 and still nothing. Every thing is ok until you get to the , Job set up, which it does not do anything. The drive letter is right h:\ (0.0.0)H: but that's all. Any suggestions ???

Ps: will this program work in Windows ME??? If not I'm wasting time and money.

so exactly what is happening when you press Rip using DVDDecrypter?

after you press Rip can you take a snapshot of the screen using the PRINTSCREEN button? Open your paint program and click Paste and then save the picture. Use the Contact option in the HELP dropdown menu and send me the picture attached to an email

I can't see any reason why it won't work in Windows ME

:EDIT: h:\(0.0.0.)H:????????????????, I've just noticed that. Are you trying to rip an image?

it should be something like H:\ (2.1.0) LITEON DVDROM

DVDStripper CAN (re)rip a MOUNTED image.
Which means, you have to use a program like Daemon Tools to mount it.
Try this link:

No I'm not trying to rip a image. I'm trying to get this set up to rip a DVD movie. Having no luck at all. I'm doing something wrong but I don't know what. Maybe it isn't installed right but the program runs and I can input information into the first 2 fields but it won't read anything about the dvd reader.

Does your DVD drive work with your media player ? It sounds as though your drive isn't recognized by your system maybe?

Does it not appear on the drop down list when you click on the arrow?

Exacly the same issue

I too have version 1.1 running on ME. Decrypter works fine, power DVD works fine, but the DS simply will not see the drive I have only the following showing in the source menu:

e:\ [0.0.0] E:

I can't change anythin on it as it is my only DVD drive. It is an LG 4040B and works fine.

I woould be happ to rip with Decrypter and then us DS on the ripped files if there is a way to do this?

Thanks
Martin

Out of ten machines , I have ME on 1 machine and someday I'll redo it and go back to 98SE, it's too old for XP or anything else. ME, for my applications is just no good.

Good Luck!

I don't seem to have a problem with anything else. My suggestion is that there should be an option to use the set up that is in Decrypter.

One could set up decrypter, which in my case has no issues with identifying the drive, and ten not have to have the source drive in DS get invovled at all.

I don't think at this point changing my OS is a viable option.

I'M just glad that I'm not the only one having trouble. It looks like DS doesn't like ME and my computer is not up to running XP. DVD95 had problems also with ME but Digi fixed the problem after enough people who bought it, couldn't use it

There seems to be some issue with the way DS looks at the available drives.

MackemX, I am willing to try things out and test them, I tried the VB6 files as suggested, but no luck.

Do you have an ME system you have tried this on?

Hi Ratpad,

I just installed DS and I was ready to roll. Except, I have the EXACT same verbatim situation you along with GMARTIN and DenFussell apparently have. Have you resolved this issue. If so please let me in on it. I'm sending this request to the other two members with this condition. Otherwise I have no option but to get a refund.

My email is *****Edit by Rastabt...8th Dec 2003!
Thank you for any helpful suggestions.

Hi, welcome to the forums :)

sorry to hear about your issue with the drives. What version of DS are you running?

I don't think DenFussell has had issues with the missing drives and I cannot recall exactly what happened with gmartin & ratpad, but I'm sure noth now have it working now though it may not state the name of the drive.

I installed ME on my laptop to see if I got the same and it worked just fine immediately from the fresh install :), so it seems to be system setup related as other installs may be affecting it after the OS is installed

can I ask if you are running any virtual drive software and if so which one?

cheers

@physica,

have you installed any of the files from the FAQ thread? and do you have any virtual drive software installed on your PC?

Hi Mac...,

I do have Clone CD and Clone DVD, both of which create their respective virtual drives. If you believe they create some conflict is therer a not permanent fix (e.g. I regularly use Cone DVD) that can disable the conflict so I can use DS then Clone DVD afterwards. Thanx.
