DVD Shrink opening files

Hi
I would be most grateful if anyone could tell me if I am wasting my time
I have downloaded 30 minuits of a VHS tape useing power cinema,and now have a file 300mb,the problem is DVD Shrink does not recognise it.
perhaps im trying to do the impossible, if so put it down to my being a newbie at the bottom of my learning curve.

what kind of file is it avi mpeg etc check with g-spot

DVDShrink only accepts DVD input, so you would need VOB(s), IFO's, etc. not just say an mpg. Why do you want to run it through DVDShrink anyway?

Sounds like it is probably VCD spec MPEG1 to me.
