DVD +R or DVD -R

Hi

I would make backup of psx2 DVD Games and some Films.
What kind of DVD i must buy?
I'm looking for sony DRU 500A (DVD +R and -R) but it is more expansive.

I would buy Plextor PX 504 A (only DVD +R).

Can you help me?

I think for game backups ... u should go for a pioneer A05... but if u want to be on the secure side (cause of the two standards) ... go for the Sony DRU 500A .

so will the pioneer A05 definetly work for ps2 backups.i really don't want to buy it and find out it doesnt.

Both the Pioneer A05 and the Sony DRU-500A work perfectly for creating PS2 DVD backups.

The Pioneer will only create DVD-R, whereas the Sony will do both DVD-R and DVD+R

If you want to create backups of your PS2 games, and want to use DVD+R, it depends on what model machine you have. Anything pre v5 and your laser may struggle to read this format. If you are unsure of what machine you have there is a list here
