DVD not working...

For some reason I can not play DVD's at all...I am running win XP and with dvd rom, I have never tried to play a dvd until recently, but it just won't work....<p>

I have tried serveral DVD's with no luck, tried to install powerDVD 5, but still freezing on me....can anyone help?!!!<p>

I didn't know I had changed them...I thought when I checked the device, it said I had 4 more attempts.....just this region DVD's...region 2 I think...

I have done all yopu have suggested...and its still not working....that last download, I have had to uninstall....it keeps turning my comp of on its own...

I see your using Nero own aspi drivers.. Go and Download force aspi at this link ...>Force aspi and also disable Norton Anitvirus when your install the force aspi drivers. make sure you have a zip tool to unzip this file
.Once open click onto INSTASPI to install your aspi driver.Once install reboot PC.
After reboot check your aspi driver with the Nerotool you can check to see if your aspi drivers are ok Click on ASPI tab should look like picture below.
And you still have 4 changes left on your drive before it locks on the last setting...(If you use dvd from other regions...other then your region 2 or 0 region dvd's)
Sorry and turn back on your Norton antivirus...;)
There is a program called dvd-region free which is very good at allowing you to play other region dvd's without locking your drive.. more info on this software can B found
here..> http://www.dvdidle.com also PowerDVD Tweaker Pro more info here http://3dgamer.tripod.com/PowerDVD_Tweaker.html but if you only play UK region2 dvd it may not B worth your while.

I have done that....it still won't play ...I have tried powerDVD and media player...

Media player is giving me a warning about screen resolution and powereDVD is just freezing after it asks what language to play it in...
