DVD Cloner II

This software seems to copy an entire DVD, removing protection/region and compressing to 1 DVD-R.

Why doesn't it seem to get any coverage on this forum?

What's wrong with it - it seems perfect for a novice to back-up their DVD collection!

well maby it does but ... YOU HAVE TO BUY IT :(

why buy when you CAN do it totally free here

with free programs and it no doubt do a better job too :)

No watermarks everything included menus scenes extras too :)

and trust me A NOVICE i once was ..........and i CUT my teeth on the very tutorial above and guess what .... my FIRST BURN was a perfect burn :)

If someone on the forum HAS used this please report back <<>> but theres no way Im gonna buy it

As per Viper do it the free way!!

I've got a Sony DW-U18A writer which I have updated the firmware to make it into LiteOn 812S and then onto a 832S (d/l when/if the d/l media ever becomes available in the UK??) but the s/w recommended in Viper's post states Pioneer only.

I have a Pioneer 107 in my other pc but would like a solution that works for both, even if it means paying for it.

I'm regretting buying the Sony drive but it was the cheapest black writer at the time and as it was a LiteOn in disguise I thought I'd be ok.

Should have read this forum more I guess!!

I tried Cloner....

All seemed fine and copied without errors until the film got to 1hr 18 mins during playback and froze.

Will post again if I resolve....

if you choose to make an ISO with DVD SHRINK then just burn it using ISO mode in decrypter :)

if you OWN NERO then you can burn the VIDEO_TS folders and the AUDIO_TS folders when you make a DVD VIDEO compilation with nero just dump the contents of the VIDEO_TS folder into the VIDEO_TS folder of the NERO compilation :)

I cannot find one single reason for this forum being serious about junkware, like DVD Cloner-any version. If you like coasters then YESSIR, I agree, it's a perfect solution.

Chill out scarecrow!

DVD Cloner appealed because it's the only one application approach that I've seen.

I'm far from being a PC novice and have used much of the s/w that is dicsussed in these forums.

I simply asked a question regarding people's experience of DVD Cloner II (as picked up by The Poacher).

At the end of the day, if I can get some s/w that does the whole lot then I'll be happy.

There's no shortage of threads discussing the merits of one app versus another.

As I've got Nero (came with drive) then I'll probably go with DVD Shrink & Nero combination.

Scarecrow was warning you of this software. No harm was intended.

Cdcloner, and Dvdcloner are to be avoided. They border on scamware. Some of us have followed his so-called softwares. Agree with the Dvdshrink, and Nero(latest version).

Good thing you asked.A warning to everyone, ask first(like you did).Always try a demo, and never purchase a software until you are sure the demo does what you need. Many scam artists have jumped on the bandwagon to make money on crippled,or stolen software. ;)

good decision :D. If you had tried this combo first I would very much doubt you would have given DVD-Cloner a 2nd look as most who use it seem to be very happy

if you have issues with Nero you can always use the ISO option in DVDShrink and burn with DVDDecrypter as mentioned previously

Another DVD Shrink Convert

I've followed the advice and read the tutorials. I've already got a copy of Nero and DVD Shrink is free.

Pretty effortless really!

First disk is now burning; will post results later.

Got the idiots guide here:

http://www.dvdr-digest.com/articles/23_1.html

(Can't remember how I got there - I'm sure there are similar tutorials on this forum?)

Thanks to all for the input.

Just to complicate things, as soon as d/l media is available at a reasonable price in the UK, I'll be going down that path!

Stay away from dvdcloner.
Developer has making some bomb-statements with his previus software`s like it copy ps games so it will work without mod-chip??,every time aplication was trying to update a aspi layer, even on mashines where aspi4.60.1021 was installed, but it could only make a working copy very rarely :p
Good luck with it :)
