I am using Nero 6.28 but it is so bloated that I am thinking in going back to my old 5.5.10.54 that is the last one from the 5.5 series. Do you know if the Liteon LDW-811s is fully recognised in this version of Nero and if it woks without any problems? I burn DVD-R and +R.
It's not officially supported by the 5.5 Nero versions:http://www.nero.com/en/632012038142166.php?manu=LITE-ON&lang=en
I guess you have to find out by trial if it works.....rumours are that Nero 6 and Nero versions since 5.5.10.50 use the same burning engine.
In this version of Nero it appears:
Under choose recorder / Options appears "Generic write control enabled". What does this mean? It sounds like a standard (and not the correct) support for the drive, but maybe I am wrong. Are there other drives that are showing this in this screen?
Thanks
The position it appears in (on the image in the other thread) is typical of write speed control (where the media is continouously evaluated and the speed backed off if required), sounds like it recognises and possibly supports the feature, but is unable to name the particular version.
Thanks LTR12101B, at least it has not produced coaster until now. Very good DVDRW drive if you ask me, and it supports correct EFM encoding, I have read that it can burn SD 2.9 very well with Alcohol, and maybe SD 3.1, but I have not tried this yet.
