Does anyone know?

Well does anyone know how to stop the floppy seek when windows start?
In win98 this is easy but don't know for xp.
It's getting boring and slows down the startup

heres some info i grabbed from the net :)

If you hit your delete key as you are booting during the post it should take you to bios.

Usually there is an Advanced Bios Features

It should say something like this:

First boot device

Second Boot device

third boot device

boot up floppy seek
i think u can figure the rest out :)

Well thanx viper for your fast reply but this is I think for the boot seek.
I want to disable the floppy seek when windows xp start after the login screen...

ok this is it ....

You can speed up speed up the Windows startup process by telling Windows not to bother looking for a floppy drive. Have Windows ignore the floppy drive, hold down your Alt key as click My computer. In the System Properties dialog box, click the Performance tab, and click the File System button. Click the floppy disk tab, and clear "search for new floppy disk drives each time your computer starts." Now click OK twice.

:)

Nice tip, thank you.
Still I can't understand how a POS application may switch this feature on (never had this problem...), but good to know-how.
