Wow, I seen this in another forum. Dual layer burner with just a firmware update!!! Try this.
How much you want to bet that don't release the firmware.

Yep...posted in a few places...Looks interesting.But...will they make upgrade available for current burners??Will be some angry people if they don't.Seems very easy to utilize. ;)

But if this truely works on the A06/106, I'll bet someone hacks it. ;) That is, if this all becomes commercial.

i'm betting that their DL burners will have different hardware from the A06/106 (and in turn, different firmware). otherwise, everyone would just buy A06/106 drives and flash them instead of buying real DL drives, losing them A LOT of money.

But they would also sell a LOT of new A06's as well which will be a lot cheaper than the oppositions Dual Layer burning machines. They will be able to get it to market a lot quicker as well. Remember its still a -R and +R fighting games to these guys and all trying to out do one another and deliver the goodies first. Just bring it on Pioneer.
