Creating a .txt file containing folder names?

I want to create a .txt file which includes lots of folder / filenames that i have on my computer.
Sounds simple, but how?

you can do it from DOS

dir c: /s > test.txt

type dir /? to get other command line arguments

or in win2k/XP try

Tree c: >c:\treeview.txt

this gives you a view like in explorer folder list

Or you can use FolderView or FolderInfo or Directory Printer.

does anyone have the crack or serial number for directory printer v3.3? it's not a freeware.

karens directory printer is freeware where does it need registering ?! where and when does it ask !? its never asked me and even on the homesite its stated as freeware and this is the latest version 3.3.3 ?!!??!

you know i have the galcot one and prefer karens free one its easier to use lol well it is for me lol

they are both very similar in functionality as well as the layout.

I like this lots better than Karen's directory printer.
The one drawback is that it truncates *very long* names.
