Cheapest blanks are Princo, but alot of people have problems with them. Riteks are about the best lower priced blanks at the moment. -R blanks are cheaper than +R. Best app for a complete copy with all the extras...either Pinnacle's Instant Copy or DVD Shrink. Quality wise it's better to use CCE to encode if you want the movie only. To get movie only in Instant Copy it's best to strip out the extras with IfoEdit and then use Instant Copy. No need to do this in DVD Shrink.

clonedvd ...bag-o-shite...dont even work with millenium..
why should it...ME supports fat32 only !!

Fat32 isn´t recommended for dvd-burning !!

Don´t forget that a dvd has 4.38 GB.

Gotta disagree with everyone here.
Just done Minority report full disk 7.5gig and it came out better with Clonedvd than it did with Dvdshrink and Dvd2one!

Thats my view anyway:D

Millenium is no problem for authoring dvd have now done nearly 1500 copies using millenium so I dont know what fat 32 has to do with anything"!!!!!

Yep your right with authoring but try decrypter in iso mode with a full dvd5.

If you are happy with me then it´s okay but normally ntfs and W2K/Xp is recommended for dvd-burning.

Ask CM if you don´t believe me.

Please don´t see it as an offence.

You can easily store imagefiles larger than 4 GB under 9X or ME! You just need a partition in non-proprietary MS format, eg ext2/3 and a program like Paragon Ex2FS anywhere, or (maybe even better) an advanced open multiplatform filesystem- there are several, I can recall Open AFS: http://www.openafs.org/release/latest.html
It can be mounted very easily under a lot different OS'es, including Windows, and store very large files... oh, and everything is absolutely free, of course.

scarecrow i think that you are using 2k and linux ;)

Of course you can use 98/me for dvd -burning but the most users are doing it with a NT-system and ntfs.

And i think that´s the reason why the development for a dvd burning app under W9x isn´t so important for the software companys.

This should be the only message of my posting ;)

As already said, Win2K or XP are the preferred OS for ripping, converting and burning (maybe Linux but I know stuff all about that OS) as there are no file size limitations.

However, I really see no reason why CloneCD should not support Win9x/ME as the bigest file size on a DVD is 1 gig ! You rip a DVD to your HD in File mode, that works in Fat32 and NTFS systems, no probs there. There is no real need for ripping in ISO mode. CloneDVD writes out a dvd structured VIDEO_TS folder with each VOB again a max size of 1 gig. The only issue I see is if CloneDVD makes some sort of temp file for itself while working, then it may exceed 4 gig. Thats just bad programming if that is the case, as far as I'm concerned. IC7 works fine in Win98, I assume most of the other All-in-one transcoders do to.
