CloneCD error mesage- Please help

I have CloneCD 4.0.0.01 installed with a legitamate serial number. I have a Dell Optiplex 150 (1GHz PIII, 256MB SDRAM) PC running Windows 2000 SP2. I get the error message below as soon as CloneCD starts the burn process. It actually does not write any data to the blank CD. I also received this exact same error message with version 3.4 and higher. CloneCD has never worked on this system. I receive a similar error message with CDMate when it initiates the burn process. Nero 5.5 works fine. CDRWIN "works" but takes about 10 minutes to write the lead out track.

The burner is a "Creative" RW8439E. This drive is rumored to actually be a Panasonic CW-7586. Neither of these drives are listed as supported writers on the CloneCD website.

CloneCD reports that this burner supports DOA RAW and shows no abnormal compatibility issues.

Writing to CD failed, ILLEGAL REQUEST : COMMAND SEQUENCE ERROR : (5:0x2c:0x00)

Any information would be appreciated.

Well bud,unfortunately,It isn't supported!There are some writers that just aren't supported.Try checking the Blindwrite site,although I think you'll find the same results.

Nevermind,checked it,Not supported there either.It is probably a hardware limitation.

OK. So I gave up and went to uninstall both CloneCD and CDMate. Much to my surprise, neither are listed in my "add remove programs" list in control panel (Win2K). Any more ideas? Maybe something else is wrong instead of burner incompatability?
