Elaborate Bytes Releases New CloneDVD 2.4 Upgrade
Offering Dual Layer, DVD RAM, Mini DVD Support and Many New Setting Options
Cham, Switzerland, 2004-08-02 - Elaborate Bytes makes a new version of CloneDVD available on the Internet at www.elby.ch. CloneDVD 2.4 offers support for new formats (e.g. Dual Layer), elaborated error messages, preferences and additional setting options.
Dual Layer and Other New Formats
The new CloneDVD supports Dual Layer, DVD RAM and Mini DVD: Long movies can now be burned one-to-one on a Dual Layer medium without any reduction in quality or image depiction. Also the rice-conscious customer benefits through the high re-writeability of the DVD-RAM media. If only a few trailers or single music videos shall be copied, a standard blank CD is fully sufficient. This recorded CD can then be read and played in DVD standalone players in the Mini DVD format which is being generated by CloneDVD.
Elaborated Error Messages and User Information
The error messages have been further refined. More detailed user information will help at runtime to understand even cryptic errors and either explain the next steps for recovery and trouble-shooting, or give helpful information to the user. The hints are accompanied with different facial expressions of the "CloneDVD Sheep", making instantly clear whether the message is just about useful nformation, or that a critical error has ocurred.
Preferences
Every program window is accompanied by the so called "Preferences". Here the user can make personal settings, such as automatic overwrting of re-writeable blanks without confirmation, or the selection of a melody to be played when a copy process was finished sucessfully.
Further Setting Options and Bug-Fixes
Many new setting options were implemented, such as 12-fold burning speed or an eject button after successfully completing the burning process and a lot of other options making life of the CloneDVD user easier. Bug-Fixes for an even more stable software are as always a matter of course. Previous CloneDVD customers will appreciate this new Upgrade!
As always, the new upgrade can be freely downloaded at www.elby.ch. However, there is a little novelty for box customers: The upgrade runs only with online keys, which means that box customers will have to exchange their serial number with an online key. The exchange is free of charges and an automated online form guarantees for an immediate delivery of the new key.
